The Bitterroot Trail Preservation Alliance committed to adopting a section of Highway 93 in the Montana Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway program. This program was organized by MDT to clean up litter using volunteer groups on Montana’s highways. Our commitment aligns with the part of our mission to maintain the Bitterroot Trail. Our section of highway and trail is the two miles immediately south of Lolo beginning at the trail mileage posts 11 to 13.
Our second litter control project will be Saturday, September 28, starting at 10:00 AM. We will meet in the Park and Ride lot at the intersection of Highway 93 and Old Highway 93, just north of Trader Brothers. The amount of time needed to clean up our two miles depends on how many volunteers we have, although any amount of time you can help out will be appreciated. We hope to be finished by noon.
Please RSVP below if you can help. Also, please consider bringing a spouse, children over 12 years old, friends or anyone else. We will be providing high-visibility vests, litter grabbers, and garbage bags. Please bring appropriate clothing for the weather, gloves, sturdy shoes, and sun protection. A safety discussion will take place before we get started.
We will reschedule if the weather does not cooperate. Any rescheduling updates will be posted here on this page and sent to everyone who has RSVP'd via email.
In the RSVP section below you will see a box asking how many others you will be bringing. You are already included as one even though the box may show zero.
